Bloat be gone ! Time to detox.

Still feeling a little toxic from the holidays?  Got that roll hanging over the belt?  Can't see the button on those low ride jeans? Don't want to even think about getting into that swimsuit?  Exposure Products comes to the rescue.

In a perfect world we would all watch what we eat and what we drink but who of us are living perfect?  With bikini season creeping up on us now would be a good time to start the detox process and rid our mid sections of the fluff, pump up the metabolism to burn some of those holiday left over rolls.  Gotta look and feel like trying on the new beach wear when it hits the stores sometime in March.  Yep – March.  Seems like we see all those cute little girl spring outfits and right down to isle the swim suits.
I’m not a big fan of Dr. Oz, I am a huge fan. I starting watching him before he got his own show, I still catch the Dr. Oz show when I can and Google for his advise when I need – which is almost daily.  So naturally I went to him for helpful hints on the Dr. Oz detox routine. You are going to love these simple suggestions on getting a start to a better feeling summer body.

First for the detox – how easy will this be?  Simply think beach and the plants that grow beneath the water, those miracle veggies from the sea.  Easy so far !
Did you know –
There are over 20 types of edible seaweed and more being discovered all the time.  Some types have more calcium than cheese, more iron than beef and more protein than eggs.  Crazy ! Right?!  Over all, these little goodies from the sea are very rich in micro nutrients which have healing properties that aid in the treatment of cancer, lowering cholesterol, dissolving tumors and cysts, detoxifying heavy metals reducing the water retention and aiding in weight loss.  Got that?  – reducing the water retention that causes that nasty blotting.

Consider the following 5 types of sea plants, look up some easy recipes on line and get ready to look and feel better.   It will be simple when you find your local sources and  favorite recipes. I checked out my local Whole Foods and found lots of fresh dishes and an abundance of recipes on the web.
Seaweed and marine algae - have more concentrated nutrition than vegetables grown on land and they have long been considered to possess powers to prolong life, prevent disease, and impart beauty and health.  For thousands of years, this mineral rich vegetable has been a staple in Asian diets.
Tip – check out Costco for a really yummy seaweed salad.
Nori – best known for outer wrap of sushi rolls
Great snack for skin health.   Reduces the production of inflammatory compounds that affect how healthy the skin looks and feels.
Wakame - Often found floating in miso soup, looks like slippery spinach.  Diuretic prevents bloating, Osteoporosis preventing calcium and magnesium.
Kombu - Thick long brown strips that are high in iodine.  Great as metabolism booster and keeps those thyroid hormones healthy.

Brown seaweed - 500 mg per day lessen liver fat and helps burn belly fat. burns

Second - you want to curve that appetite.  Gals and guys alike have the same cravings at times but it is a fact that women have more cravings  So let’s get rid of that issue by adding Chia seeds to your diet.  Chia seeds are being recognized as the newest super seed.  In addition to being rich in protein, minerals and fiber, these seeds naturally suppress appetite    If you are thinking of you old Chia Pet from the 70’s, you are right.  That is exactly what I am talking about.
Chia seed may be eaten raw as a whole seed, providing protein, fats and fiber. Chia seeds placed in water or fruit juice are consumed in Mexico and known as chia fresca. The soaked seeds are some what gooey in texture and are used in puddings and yogurts; ground chia seed is used in baked goods including breads, cakes and biscuits.  You can use the sprouts just like other sprouts, just throw them into your salad and add to your sandwiches.  Dr. Oz has some great suggestions for recipes including a chia-pomegranate pudding and chia muffins that you should check out.
You have to admit that this is all way easy – just got to make it part of your daily routine.

Third - all you ladies should check out the site of Cherelynn Baker and Makeup University. From tips on skin care, hair care and how to apply the best makeup for the beach or water park, she has it all.   What I really like about Cherelyn’s site is that she makes life simple for us by including vids.  No more attempting to understand with words only how to apply eye shadow and blushes, we can see it step by step. Also – she will throw in occasional tips for the guys in our lives.  Super fun and I am sure you are soon to be as addicted to Makeup University and Ms. Cherelynn Baker as we at Exposure Swimwear are.
Tip – check out my all time favorite post from Saturday January 21, 2012 and the great video from that date.

Forth and final for now – enjoy the sun and fun of the summer.Teach the kids in your life to swim but continue to watch them around water.  Use sunscreen properly but not to such extreme that you don’t get a little bit of beneficial  vitamin D from the sun (please check out Sunshine Sara for great tips on the vital benefits of the sun) and stay tuned to Exposure Products to for the upcoming series of how to find the best swim wear for you.
